more newbie advice needed.

hi guys,im new on here,but have spent the last few nights pouring over any info on your forums concerning the t350.ive gone from very interested,to must own one in a short space of time

im thinking of getting an expert to source a car for me,as it seems to be the smart way to go,& 2 names have been mentioned on here,rob ingleby & james agger,ive researched them myself,but id really appreciate any opinions you guys may have on which would be the best one to go with?

have to say ive enjoyed reading all the posts,excellent amount of information on offer,from real enthusiasts,& im looking forward to joining the fold.
in case its of interest my previous toys over the last few years were,
2005 carbon black e46 M3 smg.
1997 R33 nissan skyline GTR 450bhp.
2002 suzuki GSXR 750.

James Agger is a well respected TVR dealer. The cars he has for sale tend to be good ones that are thoroughly inspected & well prepared.

You may find that opinions are mixed on Rob Ingleby from what I've read previously. I haven't used him so can't comment myself. I do know that he has a lot of contacts.

If it were me however & James Agger can source a car for you, then that would be my choice. Good luck.

I used Rob Ingleby to inspect my Sag. He also delivered the car to my home as I was in Cairo. It was the second time I had used him and he did a superb job for me. I haven't used James Agger so can't comment

James Agger - very well respected, I know a few people who've bought cars through him and they've never had a bad word to say. Hard chap to get hold of but well worth it IMHO.

Ingleby - my feelings for him are pretty well known on this site, I wouldn't trust him to inspect a lawnmower let alone a S6 engined TVR.

Rob Ingleby - Had approached him when looking for my Tamora. My impressions of him was good, however I did not end up using him purely because James Agger had a car arrive in stock.

James Agger - As stated above very well respected, I bought my Tamora from him and have had no regrets As zippee mentions he is a difficult chap to get hold sometimes if not impossible but keep trying.

Have you considered getting the car inspected at the nearest TVR specialist (dealer)? Maybe worth the effort as it sound as if they'll be doing your services for you too? (ie if not experienced enough to know/check issues then wont be doing own services or via local garage blah blah etc etc)

Alternatively give up like I did and go and look for one yourself.

James Agger had a car advertised I was keen to look at and possibly buy, but as been said before he didn't get back to me for over a week by that time I had found an alternative. Nice bloke to talk to on the phone when he does finaly return your call.

Without an inspection over a pit or on a ramp the mobile guys simply can't see enough to give a comprehensive report - IMHO!

It's worth mentioning that James uses Dom at Power to check over all the cars he takes in to sell.

nice one guys,thanks for all the input.
my local tvr specialist is dulford automotive,so im gonna speak to them,as they'll be looking after the car,nice to have one so near,its only 12 miles from me,so thats a result.
wont rush into anything,think its better to wait for the right car,plus the weather aint to great at the moment.
im even forgoing a snowboarding holiday this season to save some more money,but i figure it'll be more than worth it.

Weather aint great for driving, but may be for buying!
