Anyone know this 07 Reg Tam?

Evening all!

Looking to change the Chim for a Speed 6 so popped into RG on Saturday. Having taken a test drive, i'm really keen on this car: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1867885.htm

However as it's an 07-reg, I have a couple of niggles that are concerning me:

- Given the late reg, how can I tell the history of this car and whether it was completed by the factory?
- The seats are Tuscan seats - Is this likely as they ran out of Tam seats, or were these available as an option? I actually prefer the tam seats so maybe I can find someone to do a straight swap.
- The car has done 22k but the seat leather is already heavily worn out on the drivers side... is this normal?
- Finally I've read a few posts/stories that a few of the later 3.6 cars were fitted with a 4.0l engine. Is there any way of checking this particular car?

Does anyone here know the car/previous owner at all?

Seats would only be badly worn if the owner was clumsy or didn't take as much care as they could have.

I know it's been for sale for some time as it was up for sale at RG last August when I was looking around to buy. It was originally up for £23,500 back then.

A DVLA enquiry shows it as 3600CC, first registered 18/07/2007

This car was in Drivestyles showroom for a very long time, price tag was I think 35K to 37K as a new on the road price. Drivestyle I think took the car on from recievers but I might be wrong as they did take a few cars around this time from Gorners (who went bust). I would call drivestyle for the full info. I think the first owner sold it quickly so I assume it has had 2 owners now. The seats were fitted from new. Soemething to note the car was about 2 years old before it was sold.

Hard to tell for certain looking at the pic but I'd say the seats are actually bison trim rather than real leather, this looks consistent with the way the bolster has damaged as well.

And the seats are standard for the later model Tamoras.

I have a 2005 Tamora (registered May '05), so probably manufactured around the same time as this one, and mine has Tam seats, so I would guess it was either an option, or as mentioned they'd run out by the production of this one. I considered buying this one last summer, but they didn't seem too interested in selling the car, so I went else where. Anyway that's by the by. RC did tell me that the guy who owned it previously was on the large side (no offence Mr Previous Owner) and that it was his daily driver, hence the wear on the seat. As part of the sale I would hope you could get that sorted.

I too traded up from a Chimaera, if you go for a Tamora, you won't regret it. I'd also take a look at the one that Str8six have for sale. http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2326096.htm you've propably seen it. I test drove this one last year when Str8six had it for sale, but got pipped at the post, but now its back up for sale. It had been very well sorted by these guys, so I doubt anything has changed much in six months.

Exactly right, its fatboys and repeated entry and exit that wears seat coverings not mileage. BTW garreth64 the capacity on the registration is not necessarily accurate

As said above, this was at harrogate for ages and no doubt had many people sitting in and out of it during this time - which probably accounts for the seat wear.

If you want to buy a nice tam go for the other one at RG, I have just part exed it there and it is in great condition, I never used it in the wet and the service history is fantastic. I loved every minute of owning it, only the temptation of the sag took me away from it.
