Not spoken to dom yet, wanted to hear peoples experience with it. So no gain for the decat on it's own then.

The biggest gain is the reduction in cabin temps from the trans tunnel heatsoak.
I'll be getting some for my 350 in a couple of months, combined with the JP rear box it should make for some interesting comments from the neighbours.

Go for it!

Your right loosing all that heat coming into the cabin is a massive bonus. I have JP decats and back box on mine and it sounds amazing! Was measured not long back at 130db!!!!

Enjoy.

Whats it like in cabin for steady journeys such as m/ways at a constant speed?
More imprtantly do you now get flames?

I had a decat and chip - the chip only sorts the fueling out btw it's not a power gain chip.

De-catting helps reduce the cabin temps as cats only work once up to temp, a very high temp and they sit directly below the seats.

I found that the exhaust noice was rather raspy so now I have a full JP exhaust system. Much better deeper sound and st loads more pops and bangs.

Not sure about the flames, I'd hope so though with the amount of noise it makes

I have decat and mapped by Austec.Lots of flames.
Other following cars have a good viewand I have allowed a good friend to drive it around the track while I passengered in the following car which also had a fixed video camera to recordit.
Difficult to see the smaller ones in the video, but easy to see in real time.

Did getting a re-map make a difference not in terms of flames but feeling a difference in driving?

Worth the outlay?

Oh I see. I wonder if mine flames? I do on occasion get overly loud pops and bangs from the back, similar to a backfire.

I wonder if those are the flaming beauts?

Having a car properly mapped makes a big difference.Much smoother to drive at lower revs and smoother power delivery right up to 7800rpm.

Steady motorway cruising around 80 ish is fine.

Was followed by some who said that they could see it flame on the up shift (it bangs as well) and flames on retard. (during the good morning Baghdad from around 3k to 2k rpm)

One thing to note I suppose is some will flame more than others depending on the fuelling.

Cheers. Lee.
