Tamora awkward gear change
Discussion
Hi, I wondered if I could prise some information from any Tamora owners or otherwise knowledgeable person..
Just recently my 9,000 miles (2005) Tamora is difficult to get gear selection in, through the gear knob... it seems to be getting ever so slightly more difficult to get in and out of gear, or down/up through the gears. The car only goes out once a month and is stored in a heated warehouse environment, could it just be lack of use, could it be low clutch fluid ? There is no evidence whatsoever the car leaks any fluids onto the floor.
regards
Leon

Clutch and/or slave cylinder might be on its way out. The clutch shares its fluid with the brakes, look in the footwell behinf the pedals, you can see if it needs filling up.Just recently my 9,000 miles (2005) Tamora is difficult to get gear selection in, through the gear knob... it seems to be getting ever so slightly more difficult to get in and out of gear, or down/up through the gears. Agree with Lee - it might need bleeding - a little bit of air in the system which compresses instead of the clutch fluid doing its stuff really makes the world of difference.
As Lee said above, there should be a bump stop on the back of your clutch pedal towards the top. if you wind it in a little to get more travel on the clutch does this make a difference?
9k miles does appear to be a very short life for a clutch. Has the car been driven hard with lots of spirited starts? If not, I'd doubt the clutch.
Master or slave cylinder could be a possibility - had mine replaced recently due to bore wear along with the clutch at 19k miles. Its not something I know a great deal about but no doubt someone else better informed will be along soon.
Good luck

When you say it's difficult to get into gear, in what way do you mean? Just hard to push in or a feeling like its just not slotting in correctly (best description I can think of)? If the latter it may be worn synchros on the gearbox itself - something I currently have on mine and will soon be rectified with a gearbox rebuild.
