Anyone fitted the RG sports cats?
Discussion
I looked at changing the manifolds but was told the original ones do a pretty good job. As for the cats, you will probably fail an mot test, unless you knew a "friendly" one.
They do make the exhaust quite "droney" on the m-way though and quite raspy when pressing on.

Thats right but only with the standard rear box. Having now heard and been in a de-catted JP rear equipped 350 I can say it sounds pure evil with no hint of the raspiness a de-cat only produces.HTH

Just wondering if anyone has fitted these and what there thoughts are? Plus have you got the car MOT'd with them fitted without any issues.
Looking at the tuned manifolds too but not sure they are worth the price.
why worry with race cats? they are cats with slightly larger holes in to be a bit less restrictive than normal cats, but I bet they are not cheap, why waste your money, go for decat, and switch back if you don`t like it, its a simple job to change them.Looking at the tuned manifolds too but not sure they are worth the price.
as for tuned manifolds bet you`d hardly find any difference between these and a standard set, I make tuned manifolds, among other stuff, and if there was a good benefit to be had by changing the manifolds I`d make a set myself, as already said the standard ones are very good, for once TVR did a very good job on designing the inlet and outlet systems on the speed 6, unlike the ajp and rv8 stuff.
I had de-cats on but have to say I hated the noise! yes it was noise, more max power, I was just missing the acne
. Now the engine is larger it means more gasses, higher velocity, possibly greater back pressure, therefore to reduce these factors I'm going for the sports cats. (giving the tuned manifolds a miss).

just checked your porfile and see you have a 4.5, so I understand what you are on about,

you could also try modifying the silencer, free flowing with more silencing, I did this on mine and works a treat when decatted.
