Interesting Saga on Ebay

feel sorry for the bloke really, can understand why it would put people off if his plate was on his old car which was a cat d, but as usual records kept in cyberspace don`t get updated properly, or so it seems.
I`ve seen this car at Raceprooved before, and at Chatsworth last year, looked like a very nice example to me, and he has certainly spent a lot of money on it, but the colour may not be to everyone`s taste.

I love it and all the upgrades too, love the colour. Also had a good look around the car at chats last year where it looked great, took in a car p/x the other week at work that was showing a cat'c though once investigated this was because the plate was once on a vehicle that suffered the damage. Sounds a similar situation

That looks very much the same as the ex Dream Machines demonstrator. I actually like the colour, not sure about the Cam cover though!
Wondered that myself, Mick, but the DM car was black interior. Remember clearly as I test drove it three times. Was never wild about the colour, but it didn't put me off the car. So it seems at least two were built in what became known as spectraflair snot
Slat cut outs are good, and the body mods look well done, but I have to wonder if it actually devalues the car a little by making it non-standard

but shep, his problem is the sag isn`t cat d, the personal plate ties the history back to his previous written off tuscan, its all explained in the ebay add.
Yes but the advert (PH) also explains the Sag has been damaged & repaird also, that is what my understanding of 'condition inspected' is. The car should not be recorded as written off but at the end of the day it is still a damaged repaied car with a marker on it as 'condition inspected' shep1001 said:

That how I read the ebay message - car is repaired. If it isn't then he needs to make it much clearer to avoid misunderstanding.I quite like the look of this car. If it is repaired isn't there a general yardstick for values x% below book or whatever? Its such a rare car so I guess it is worth what someone will pay for it.

The saggy was damaged and repaired, but it is not the damage that will come up if you put in the REG NUMBER.
A bit pricey if you ask me for a damaged saggy.
why should the price suffer if the car has been repaired properly by the right people?A bit pricey if you ask me for a damaged saggy.
if its in as good as condition now as it was before any damage was done, then whats the diofference?
these are fibreglass cars, not steel cut and shut euroboxes, I think thre is some sort of mental stigma attatched to a car that have been repaired at some point in its life, whereas the main point is that the car is repaired properly and is still in top condition, then why should it not fetch top money?
just my 2p worth.

I am not saying anything against this car, all i am saying is any car with damage always has a price drop, just look on the classifieds.if its in as good as condition now as it was before any damage was done, then whats the diofference?

I'm neutral on this but:if its in as good as condition now as it was before any damage was done, then whats the diofference?

1. The stigma - when you come to sell it turns people off even if you don't care - makes it harder to sell.
2. It depends on the amount of damage, and if you see photos of the damage etc. then it might not be so bad. Or it might be really bad.
