would like to have better control over the fans in the summer as i have no aircon in mine, is it simple enough to do?

Do you have a problem? Don't have aircon in mine and overheating has never been an issue. IIRC there is a mod that can be done (within the ECU) to reduce the temp trigger points that the fans come in. Can't help with fitting a switch though but I guess its not difficult, hardest bit would be getting wires through the bulkhead.

TVR Power have an ecu chip with the fans set to cut in at lower temperatures than normal.

no problem but in the middle of summer stuck in traffic would be nice to have them kick in earlier. how much is the ecu thing from power then?

I'd be interested in this too. Could use the redundant front fog light switch as the fan override switch?

IIRC if the water sensor goes open circuit the fans come on. If so a switch wired in line would allow you to simulate this at will wouldn't it? You could then turn the fans on and off(auto) whilst sat in traffic.

You best option though would be to leave it if no issues or have the chip mod to bring them on earlier.

But why? They see to work fine when in proper working order. When mine cut in the temp comes down quite quickly and it cycling between 93 (fan 1) and 98 (fan 2) then back down to 91-ish when stationary should do any harm. (all readings from dash sensor/display)

I don't think that will make much difference surely?

Best way to reduce cabin temps would be a decat... wink

You aren't going to get rid of that. There just isn't enough metal around to conduct the heat away. And if you need it to cool the engine, you've got a leak.

When I had a speed six I put a water divert device in the cooling system so the water went no where near the heater matrix just like they were going to do with the Sagaris 2/3. When I put the LS7 in I did not put it back in. If someone wants to try it I have it somewhere, it worked very well.
