Fuel tank "pops"
Discussion
Yes its a problem, only minor though, but you need to act, as the tank is sucking itself in, under vaccum, as the fuel pump pumps fuel to the engine.I had the same problem, you will find your vent pipe might be kinked or twisted, pull away the tank cover and carpet and trace the small vent pipe, mine went over the nearside wheel arch near the filler, and vented down infront of the rear wheel, find it have a play and this should cure your problem with a bit of luck?
Regarding your oil temp, i will post on this thread, the temp sender is on the bottom of the oil tank, and obviously the sender is giving a false(under) reading,
I have wrapped some tin foil around the sender and sealed it with a bit of sealant. This has helped a fare bit. As already mentioned, if you try and warm it up normally first you won`t have anything to worry about.

If you can I would get it checked sooner. Many people have had this problem, and got it sorted without any real disasters. However, mine was popping (albeit on a Chim) and I thought ah well, I will just get it checked when it goes in next month. The tank actually imploded before then, completely twisted itself so it only held about two thirds of its normal volume. Had to have the tank replaced. This is pretty extreme and normally the suction effect isn't that bad, but worth getting checked asap.
