after some research and experiments I`ve made a pair of silencers to attatch to the main silencer to enable me to use the sag on trackdays this year, the car is already decatted and using 2 db meters just to prove that they are both giving the same readings, I am getting 78 db on tickover, and at 4500rpm 98db, and couldn`t get it to peak any higher than 99db.
these have knocked a good 10 db off of the normal endcans so well ipressed, I`ll arrange to carry out a back to back test on a dyno just to make sure its not loosing out on power, but with the design of the internals, basically straight through perf pipe with wadding surrounding it, I` can`t see any significant power loss being recorded.I think they look quite good as well.

I`ll get one off and weight it tomorrow Graham, but not heavy at all. the main pipe only being 4" diameter, tapering down to the 3" outlet.

I can not use these as I do not have a S6 but could you make a false outer so they fill the space more? The finish looks A1

Shoot me down if you like.

ok, shoothehe

this was one of the things I was considering, but it starts to get a lot more expensive to increase the diameter of the main pipe, reducing cone ect, plus the important factor for me really is the extra weight, quite noticable when you then fill will e glass ect, plus extra cost of that as well.

when you consider it all fits onto a 2 1/4" pipe stuck out the end of the silencer thats about 6cm long, thats a lot of wieght hanging from that point, and I didn`t want to have the option of hanging from above to compensate for the extra weight, I just want to keep it plain and simple, a nice 5 minute job tops to swap them over.

plus the important thing being if it reduces the db sufficiently in a 4" pipe, why go bigger, afterall, the standard pipes are only 4" that have been ovaled.

bigger isn`t necessarily better Paul. how big is that chevy lumphehe

perhaps I coud make some nice ones for yours?

will you be at chatsworth mate?
