T350C meets T400-somethingR
Discussion
Had an absolute blast today, we popped over to our friend Paul's (tail slide) today to compare cars - ours, a new (to us) T350C and his, a very well developed T400 and something 'R.'
The sun was out, what would you do?
After comparing notes on various parts/ fixes - we took the two out for a run. We were in the 'R and Paul sampled the delights of a standard 'C again. Stunning cars, great clear roads and two T-cars powering along in convoy. We got a few pointers about our cars future development, and I think/hope Paul enjoyed ours - it was great to watch it ahead of us, stunning cars these!
A few words on Pauls 4.2 Str8six 'R' - its bloody mental. The grip/stability/pace of the thing is something very very special. It felt alot like our 4.5AJP Cerbera engine wise, with much more torque lower down - but the whole thing was turned up a level in a straight line, especially at higher revs, it was genuinely violent. Pauls 80-100 figure of 2seconds comes close to telling the story, a fantastic engine/gearbox combination. In the coners - the stability all round is the underlying impression - as the car is on R888's and we werent playing hard on a track, I have no idea what they're like beyond the limit, but it could definately be leaned on in a way that felt very impressive.
We now have a target of getting somewhere between the two, the exhaust is a bit too much (dare I say it we like our T350C as a quiet car?!) and the engine/gearbox is a step that will have to wait, but we're going to be getting the suspension/steering/geometry work sorted asap... then potentially we're both (with Paul) going to look even further into the aero side of things. We had previously wondered about what to do if the six was to cause any issues - hopefully no time soon - our Cerb AJP has done near enough 95k now and the T is at 20k, but its certainly nice to have the option of a mega-six! Very impressive...
I'll post a few pics of them sitting in a driveway tomorrow possibly - no action shots - too busy enjoying the cars!
Great day, a huge thanks to Paul/ Tail slide.

Ahem, its not a T400R, its a TVR T350C with a big engine/ a silly 'R' badge on the back...
Sorry if I have caused any confusion. It's bloody fast though, and im sure something in the engine (crank?) is a T440R lemans engine part...
Edit: Photos - I have a couple more, but I don't want to give the location of our secret parking spot.
Will get more/better at a sprint/hillclimb/trackday in future.
