Just had my T350 in for a service and I've been informed I've got a small leak from the water pump, I believe there is a small breather hole at the top of the pump and the service people noticed a small leak from there (Not sure how much but think it was just a few drops). I've never noticed any pools of water on the drive or in the garage and coolant levels are all fine.

Now, I have a warranty I got with the car, but they want a full examination before they will approve any work, the garage tell me this is a full engine out job to do, with putting that back in it's not a scratch from a £2k job, and after that the warranty people might say it's wear and tear in which case I'll get stuck with the bill (at that point I might as well pay for the pump to be re-built anyway), or it might be nothing at all.

I've had a chat with Tony at HHC (who spotted the problem) and he thinks I should take it back and monitor it for a week or 2 and make a decision then, problem is my warranty runs out on 14th May.

I'm not sure what the best option is, take the engine out for examination, or keep using it and see if it get's worse, or even if it's a problem at all.

any help appreciated? anyone else had this issue? £2k is a lot of cash to drop on something that might be a while elephant.

How old is the TVR Power rebuild? They were possibly the last ones to touch it?

You have a few weeks, so HHC's advice is good IMO. How likely do they say it is to fail as opposed to just dribble a bit?

The Rebuild was 13k miles ago, about 2008 from memory.

HHC don't know if it's just a minor thing or if it's the start of something worse. They have seen one do this before on a Tamora and it lasted for 2.5 years when the guy eventually sold the car.

They did say it was only noticed when the under-tray was removed, so it can't be that bad or it would be leaking worse than that.
