I've finally bought a TVR!
My dad bought a 4.0 chimaera when I was 17 and I thought it was the most striking, entertaining car I'd ever seen/heard.
11 years on and the bug has never gone away so finally I have taken the plunge myself!
My now jag driving dad thinks I'm completely nuts and is completely jealous!

Its a 2002 with a recentish clutch and a power rebuild (top end only). (hope that's ok?)

unfortunately i can seem to dd photos, any tips there?!

I part ex'd an M3 convertible for the tam. Just couldn't get excited about the beemer. Very competant car, but no soul, no passion.

The tamora is raw, powerful and at times difficult, but what a beast! I've had lots of comments so far!

Many thanks for those who helped me out on an earlier post about driving the tam a short distance to work. The plan is to use it once or twice a week on the commute but mainly to keep as a weekend and hidays car.

The car has a warranty from Stephen James.
Faults so far are
washer bottle with a leak or missing a plug.
Engine needs a little gas to stop from stalling when just started from cold.
gap between top of windows and roof. (is this normal?? or can it be fixed as I imagine it will let in the rain)

Hopefully these can be sorted under warranty.

My first move will be to fit an exhaust which pops and bangs (immature but necessary!, I'm running standard at the mo, with cats) any suggestions on this?
The leather could do with a treatment I suspect as is looking slightly tired in places.

Great forum, thanks for the help so far and hopefully looking forward to meeting people! Im north london BTW

Cheers
Paul

Hi Paul,

Congratulations! You won't regret it. I can't help with everything but has the car had a recent service? It should tickover from cold unless it needs a service. What does it tickover at when it is warm?

There should be targa rubber seals on the edges of the roof which seal the gap between the roof and window, are they there?

I have the TVR Power exhaust on mine and it's superb; lots of pops and bangs around 3k!

Enjoy thumbup

Hi there, thanks for the reply, yes the ruber seals are there but there is still a half inch gap between seal and window.
The car was serviced around 5 months ago so i think the occasional stalling when cold issue will need attention.
cheers
Paul

I have a fix for the window/wind noise issue (but a gap as big as yours migh be something different). I will be testing it at Chatsworth this weekend. Where in London are you? if you are not too far from me in Dunstable (Luton) maybe you want to pop up one weekend?

TVR Power/Racing green cans are awsome! Blue flame and JP can are good too. I have the Racing green set up and its fantastic

Another vote for TVR Power/Racing Green rear cans, leave the cats in for a deeper sound IMO.
