V8V insurance

I have been with Admiral multicar and this year they want £1700 to insure the V8V.

Ok do have 9 points and 1 accident but I though I would phone around.

Managed to get it for £850 with Aviva

Just thought I would tell you in case your on the hunt for insurance

Always worth trying the smaller brokers such as Locktons etc. Can be much, much cheaper if you are lucky.

Aviva appear to be really competitive at the moment and no other company got close to them on price for my V8V insurance. They also gave my 19 year old daughter the best quote on her elderly Clio.

Could anyone reccommend an insurer for a 'younger' Aston driver (28)? I have been on a company car policy for the past 3yrs and so have lost my NCB. Clean license and no accidents.

As mentioned above, you should try Aviva but do it on the phone, not the website. Although not a young driver I came to them last year with zero NCB and an accident 2 years ago but because I have two other cars insured with them they consulted the underwriters and came back with a special deal.

It would help if your company or their insurers would provide a letter of no claims in your 3 years on their policy. I used this approach once with one of the major insurers and they were happy to accept it as proof of NCB. It was a while ago and things may have changed but has to be worth a try.

Admiral are best for me on a multicar policy.

same for me with Aviva.....i needed insurance on a second car but had no NCB for a second policy.....rang Aviva, they spoke to the underwrites and gave me an introductory 65% NCB !.......the argument being i can only drive one car at a time. That 65% is now fully transferable.
