Mille Miglia 2012

It is my ambition to drive my DB7 to Italy and back, and it would be marvelous to combine this with watching the Mille Miglia in May 2012. Presumably at Brescia.
Could anyone offer any advice on the best way to accomplish this. Dos and Don'ts etc. and other useful tips!

I think a few people have had this idea... I'd probably post in general rather than here. I'm planing on taking my old '72 Alfa Spider down for it next year, letting the train take the strain for most of the journey.
