V8V front & rear Indicators not working on one side only...?
Discussion
Hi all,
got my first problem with my 2006 V8V
Driving home tonight, had a warning light on the dash to say a right side indicator bulb had gone. When I got home I checked them and saw it was the rear one, it kinda flickered a little and then stopped when I looked at it. I also noticed that that side had a bit of condensation in it, where the left side didn't.
I had a quick search online and discovered that means a new cluster at something close to £500, so while I was debating whether to upgrade to clear lenses on the back I thought I'd give her an overdue wash. I checked the indicator situation again afterwards, and now the front one on the same side doesn't work either, although the side repeater does.
So... I'm thinking that perhaps it's not the rear cluster after all (yay!), and it's something electrical instead. Or, worst case scenario, the front one has decided to pack up within an hour of the back one doing the same - and it looks like the fronts are around £1000 a pop + fitting.
Any thoughts?

Hmm... just took her out for a quick blast, and both indicators are working again... but the brake lights aren't, and the inner-right-rear light isn't (the light looks like it's split into two parts).
Sounds like a new rear cluster might solve all my problems to me. Anybody got a set of clears they want to sell?

I was going to suggest a mouse but felt that was not being helpful.Sounds like a new rear cluster might solve all my problems to me. Anybody got a set of clears they want to sell?
Pretty certain that front and rear indicators, left and right are fed independantly off the central electronic module. That might explain front and rear doing silly things independantly.
Before you go splurging on a new light cluster, I'd probably do a deep reset (as in the power isolator in the boot) do a relearn for seats and windows and then retest.
Failing that I'd whiz it up to Rick or another service centre as it could very well be something more benign (or more expensive)
Could it be a dodgy / loose fuse? I can see the sense in fusing left / right rather than front / back (so at least someone works each end should a fuse go). Might be worth investigating.
The condensation thing I believe is pretty common so may not be the cause (although it's the only thing you can see I guess!)
Cheers
Kris

Hi,
Was just wondering if there was a resolution to your problem. I've been experiencing nearly the exact same thing for the latter part of this year. Right side indicators either do not come on at all when engaging the turn signal or the Hazard switch, or some on for one or two flashes than cease.
Aston dealer tried swapping the hazard switch which apparently has a relay of some kind in it, this did nothing. They are clueless as to what the issue might be.
Getting pretty dangerous a problem to have so getting kind of desperate for a resolution.

Are the front indicators also LED's. If not, try fitting a new indicator bulb in the front because if one packs up, there is insufficient current going through the relay for it to heat up and flash, and that could be the cause of the rear flicker.
If V8V has LED's on the front also for indication, I am talking out of my arse.
