V8V Test Drive

[Z4 Animal]

Had my first drive in a roadster today looking into buying one.

This test was more a garage will it fit test which it passed but tight.

Can't say i was that impressed it lurched alot not a smooth change and nearly stalled twice whilst trying it in the garage.

It did feel a lot larger to drive and more cabin room than the zed.

That said comphy a rather large wheel that im used to and i could'nt shut the sat nav up

Were close to a px so a further test drive needed.

Any thing i should look out for or test? Roadster 2007 Sportshift.

warranty if possible
tyres and brakes
all electrics work

if its from a dealer most things should be covered

Car was from where? Main dealer or independent?
If main dealer ask them to do a clutch learn procedure on the Sportshift, then try it again.

Hey, judging your profile you have owned a few TVR's so should be used to quirky.

The Vantage goes that extra mile. Not as predictably a safe option as your Z4 (I went from Tusc to 335 convertible ) I found it fantastic but souless. I have been enjoying Aston ownership for three years now and it just gets better.

It's something you can't explain, but you understand when you have driven one for a while.

I guess it's down to your expectations of a car.

I tried a sport shift V8V and hated the gearbox, ended up buying a PDK Cayman S instead.

I did, and manual cars are no problem

can't be bothered any more, doesn't give me any issues apart from a clutch and the PDK box is brilliant so as more makers go down that route away from slush boxes I should be fine.

A very valid point that I had missed.

Nothing wrong with watching Women's beach volleyball! Quite possibly the only women's sport worthwhile watching.
