£120k for an 05 DB9?!
Discussion
Is it just me, or does this seem like a complete rip off?

Does anyone know anything about the car? I would like to know why it is priced so ridiculously high. Reading the advert I got the impression you could probably buy an 05 DB9 coupe for 1/3 of the price, spend maybe £10-20k modifiying it and end up with exactly the same.

Is this the first time we have been in almost unanimous agreement?!
It's up for £125k on the dealers website, so don't think it's just an error.
Really??? They cant honestly think it is worth that... It just doesnt stand apart from any other DB9, poofy badges aside.. And come to think of it,, the interior would put me off, not keen on the quilted look....

Something that has been spec'd by an individual from new may never appeal to other people... I wonder what he paid for it new????
People can put whatever they like on the price tag. It's what someone actually hands over for it that defines what it's worth. And that car will be lucky to reach half that amount.
I particularly liked the...bored of the usual silvers and greys, this owner of undoubted good taste and not much common sense had it sprayed.....grey.
Whoever wrote that advert obviously used to work as Gordon Brown's speech writer. f

kwit. But it's got red seatbelts. They surely go some way to justify the price.
My 1st car, an MG Metro had them but no quilted seats.
Looking at www.howmanyleft.co.uk the MG Metro is actually significantly rarer than the DB9 too. (181 taxed in 2011 vs 2492 DB9 coupes)
That said it really was a piece of s

eGnetlemen, gentlemen, what we're looking at here is a unique, one-off commission by Aston Martin Works Service, the most famous of DB9s and something very special indeed.
http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/6377...
Imagine this car with a Bamford Rose conversion (nothing comparable was available at the time) and you would have an extremely special car.
Having said that... we're looking at nearly-new DBS money there. Personally if I was looking for a coupe I would desperately want this one, but not to the tune of £120k. Perhaps £80k as a WS one-off.
So we're all in agreement then, my car is better. Thought so

But with an illegal UK plate
Seems a bit prices for a car chaved up by Works Services

That plate it has in the Evo article is absolutely atrocious!http://www.evo.co.uk/carreviews/evocarreviews/6377...

I still think £80k would be steep for an 05 DB9 with fancy paint and a tarted up interior (which imo isn't as nice as the standard one, looks far too Bentley with that quilted leather)

Agreed it's an Emperors Clothes Job
But the cachet of being the only *real* thing WS has ever done to the DB9. But agreed, it's nothing more than cosmetic although the bespoke aluminium diffuser would be nice. I bet the fuel filler cap cost a fortune to install as it'd require bodywork.Combined with a proper engine modification, something quite special... it's also need sports pack of course as it's such an early car!
If I was that dealer I'd get some engine stuff done on it then bang it out for that money again. With 500bhp and the uniqueness of the WS conversion, it'd be worth more than a DBS to someone.

Off topic as is often the way here, my first car was a Rover Metro with red seatbelts too - a 6 point race harness since I was 13 and used it for junior banger racing My 1st car, an MG Metro had them but no quilted seats.
