Tracker question
Discussion
So got my car and called to "pair" the car. Does this mean I have to keep the mobile phone with it ? Otherwise it will activate ? And are you supposed to get a card that does the same thing as the phone in case you take the car for servicing . Sorry for being a bit dimbo but never done it before and want to know how it works
Mine came with two credit card sized tags.
I've also paired my personal and work mobile with it so as long as one of these four items are in the car the tracker should disarm when I'm using it.
Somewhere in the book all about the tracking system I got with the car it says you can ring the tracker company telling them it's in for a service and they can put it in service mode for a limited time so that when the garage move the car around you don't keep getting the alarms.

The tracker looks for a device to know you are the proper driver so you need your phone or one of the credit card type of tracking 'fobs'.
If the car is moved without the fob and you are paying your subscription then the tacking company will contact you if the car gets shifter without a fob being in it.
Service time you can indeed notify them it's going for a service or if you have a fob (not your phone) then you could leave that with them....

so really the only reason for having the tags are if the vehicle is in for servicing for example and you dont ring them up to tell them the motor is away from a paired phone .
Yup!
providing you have a newer, compatible phone. The Eurowatch website has a list of compatible mobiles. Mr Purple said:

No you call up Eurowatch and tell them it is in, they monitor it and still track it so it if gets nicked from the dealers they know but they don't react to a few starts, small trips and test drives. If you forget to tell them it's still in they contact you & the dealer to check when it triggers an alarm

For what its worth...got an email from Aston Tracking last week saying they were going to automatically renew my subscription. Emailed my (excellent) insurance brokers who told me that my policy does *not* require a tracker any longer unless the car is valued at >£75k. She's now worth less than £75k (she probably dropped to that the day i drove her out the dealer!) so not bothering renewing.
