IME Ferraris are much more "in your face" than Astons. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's just different.
Performance of something like a 430 will be markedly superior to a V8V. My old 355 was pretty much on par with the V8V and the 430 moved that game on considerably.
Build quality of Ferraris since the 355 is generally very good (and improving all the time). Most models have their quirks and issues (as with Aston), but I'd say build quality was very similar across the two marques.
If you've never tried a Ferrari, and like the looks etc, then you should definitely try one. But be prepared for attracting a lot of attention no matter where you go. It was all positive in my experience...though my friends and relatives - none of them "car people" per se - all prefer the Aston. (I miss the Ferrari a bit, and will have another before I descend into automotive old age).

I have a 360 Modena and a V8V for my daily drive. Whilst the F is a lovely thing to take out on the odd occasion (puts on metal tin hat), you do get way more attention than in the Aston, although due to its comparative rarity, the V8V still gets plenty of admiration.
If I was to just take one, as a weekend car say, I would take a 355/360/430 every time over a V8V though, much as I love the Aston! Saying that, I would hate to drive any of those Fs on a day to day basis!!

I used to be a Ferrari nut, went from a 348 spider a long tune ago, 355 Berlinetta, then 360 manual to a 360 F1 paddle shift, which I bought new. Most of the cars were very reliable, the last one, the only ne I bought new was a 'mare. I put hardly 3000kms on it and it was returne to dealer 3 times for repairs. The worst experience was the after care, or lack of it. I got stranded on he motor way, called assistance and they towed the car to the nearest dealer. I had to sort out my own hire car, pay all taxi fares, and worst of all they would not return the car to my home address, I had to collect the car which was over 100 miles away. I was never reimbursed a penny and sold the car and moved to Aston Martin. on my third which is a V8roadster manual, clutch seems to smell a lot!! But love it, saving up for the V12roadster!
