Late Christmas / early Birthday present

Picked up my N400 today very happy.
Sorry for the crappy photo, it's on my not al all photogenic drive - having got it on there I'm a little reluctant to move it just for a better photo! It's a tight fit, and I don't really know where the corners are yet.
I'm probably going out for a spin later, when the roads are quiet, though London doesn't have much to offer in the way of interesting drives. When I get a chance I'll upload a better photo.

What do you mean "got it on there" and "tight fit"? What am I seeing in the photo? Are you parked on a driveway in front of a house? Is that other car yours also?Sorry for the crappy photo, it's on my not al all photogenic drive - having got it on there I'm a little reluctant to move it just for a better photo! Just wanting to understand how it is over there in the UK regarding parking a car at a residence. Is that how close your cars are to the street?

Yes, it's a driveway infront of my house, the car next to it is my neighbours, very small houses and yes it's that close to the road, but it's a very quiet road.Just wanting to understand how it is over there in the UK regarding parking a car at a residence. That's not typical, but I live close to central london, and space is at a premium.
Thanks for the explanation. Now I better understand why so many of you seem to worry about vandalism being that cars are so close to the road in many cases. If I had to be parked so close to the road, I'd probably never sleep. But I suppose it is all what you are use to...
Good luck with the car...she's a beaut.

Lovely car! ... Its a London problem. The rest of the country has houses with huge driveways and set very far back from any main roads. This is one of the reasons I'll refuse to buy a used car if I know its been owned and run in London. The Londoners on here will flame me for saying that - I speak from experience having lived there for many years before moving north!Good luck with the car...she's a beaut.

Looks lovely - congratulations. Neil and John seem to know some good spots in London to enjoy the noise.. gentlemen?
Beech Street in the CityBlackwall tunnel
Kingsway tunnel (north over Waterloo bridge)
London Wall - bounce the sound off the buildings
Personal favourite - Bell Common tunnel on the M25. 570 yards of f22 out, windows down, red-line fun. If you can do this without a huge smile on your face in your car then I'll refund your money as you obviously bought the wrong car!!!

Had forgotten about the Kingsway Tunnel, don't normally drive into London. However, as the congestion charge is suspended this week I may do tomorrow.
Otherwise, out West there the new Hindhead Tunnel, which is a total giggle. May have to pop out to it on New Years day

I was thinking the same although my normal working hours mean I miss the congestion charge anyway...Had forgotten about the Kingsway Tunnel, don't normally drive into London. However, as the congestion charge is suspended this week I may do tomorrow.

Just a 15 minute drive from me There are average and speed camera's in the tunnel...

Probably ok if it's hit early enough - there is always a big biker meet on Box hill on new years day - so there will be a fair bit of traffic around because of that. But perhaps an early morning blast and a bacon buttie?
