Vantage Roadster

Going to be replacing my V8VR next year with same again either in S or V12 assuming the pricie isnt too ridiculous. As I am fortunate to buy new I want to spec a colour scheme that is sporty but not too over the top. I have always had silver / greys but saw a morning frost with black roof and obsidian interior which I thought was fantastic. Then someone suggested morning frost with red interior! Then I saw Mako! Then i saw spectrum blue. Now I'm confused.com!
As this will possibly be my last new car and will be a keeper don't want to regret my decision 3/4 years down the line meaning I am now going back towards more traditional colours like Quantum etc. Is it wrong to going Aston Racing green on a modern era car? I have seen hardly green on a V12 but it's very light impaired to AMR green . I know it's all subjective and very personal but I find it difficult to imagine finished cars and some of you guys have specced colour schemes that look fantastic that I would not even consider specifying. Any thoughts appreciated.

Slightly off topic nowt new there
why has it took AM untill now to uleash the roadster in the V12 version? My V8 is 5 years old come April.
And as said mega expensive too![frown](/inc/images/frown.gif)
There was a proper reason - no doubt the V12V chap(esse)s shall elucidate.![biggrin](/inc/images/biggrin.gif)

Preformance, whilst still outstanding, would be reduced slightly with the increased weight ?? Cost would increase. Top Gear doesn't understand why AM does any volante / roadsters due to the reduced performance figures ??
Just an outsiders view really, but more than happy to learn

Why take the roof of anything DBS,458 etc etc,. In my case it's because I love the V12 engine and in a compact sports car with the roof down it makes perfect sense!I have no plans to track it only drive it in the uk and Europe . In 5 years time I dont believe that option will be available so I plan to take advantage when it happens. In respect of deep pockets I do have a limit that's why I put S or V12. colour combinations will work for either as both will look the same except for th bonnet vents.

Live Mako therefore interior? Black , blue or red or any combination?
Have lightning at the moment which I love so Mako a natural progression!
Mine is mako exterior, dark blue leather sports seats and dashboard and ivory headlining. If you're near north london you're welcome to a passenger seat drive. As you can imagine, quid pro quo is a drive in your V12V-R when it arrives!Have lightning at the moment which I love so Mako a natural progression!

Thanks sounds lovely. Did you have a contrast stitch on the leather? silverspeed said:

Do try for something bespoke regarding interior/exterior colors. After all, this is one of the great features of the Aston; the ability to get it your way, esp since it might be your last new car. And if it is a keeper, then you don't need to think too much about resale. If you go the traditional color scheme route, you just might as well buy a used V8VR-S since there will be a lot of 'safe' choices available to buy.As this will possibly be my last new car and will be a keeper don't want to regret my decision 3/4 years down the line meaning I am now going back towards more traditional colours like Quantum etc. Is it wrong to going Aston Racing green on a modern era car? With respect to green, have a look at Aston Martin Green ... it is a tad darker than Racing Green
I would definitely have gone for a AM Green V8V if there had been many available. I think it looks better on the DB9, but I've seen photos of a green V8V, and it looked good on there too.
Anyone know why Astons tended to be silver historically? A search on google image search suggests that most DB4s were silver/grey/black, but there's a handful of green ones:

Our S is in Tungsten - see profile pic.
Our previous V8V was in Meteorite.
So many are chosen as various shades of silver simply to maximise re-sale prospects. If yours is going to be a keeper go for something you are going to love and to hell with the re-sale! I can see the appeal of Mako![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)

As said, if you're going grey/silver you may as well get a second hand one.
My Chiltern Green DB9 is a keeper, absolutely ageless colour and very traditionally Aston-ish. Think it's nicer than Cali Sage. Saw a DB4 GT in it, looks great on any Aston (think it was a DB7 colour originally?)
