Vantage V12 seats

I have a v8 Roadster 4.7, seriously considering upcoming v12 Roadster. When I tested the V12 coupe, I couldn't get omfy in the sports seats, anyone know I the coupe comes with seats like the 4.7? If not they should be replaceable? If so likely costs?

The sports seats are an option, normal seats are standard (and better imo).

I know the sports seats are ridiculous money to retrofit, something around the £10k mark if I recall correctly, no idea of anyone doing it the other way around.

Sport seats are the "standard" seats
Light weight seats are optional one peice CF seats

I went for lightweight carbon seats as so many people had said they are more comfortable than the std ones, and the 34KG saving was appealing, but I didn't find them particularly comfortable, so put in some inflatable lumbar supports, and they are now perfect, just done a few hours on the motorway, and they are as good as my A8's comfort seats.

Thanks, my problem is I have to have a very aid bck seat, as I have a bad back. The standard seats in my V8 recline enough, the sports seats I have tried did not, I think I'll go to my local dealer to see what they have I can try out...

I found the sports seats to be more comfortable than the light weight ones too.

The trick with the lightweight [one piece] seats, is to tilt/rock them back. You will have a great driving position, with support under your thighs. You may have to move the seat closer to fully depress the clutch pedal though. I'm 6', and have the steering wheel fully extended, with the seat fully down, and the front almost fully raised. I can actually drive further/longer than with the standard "sport" seat.

Thanks ..but I think it won't work for me, I really need to have a "laid back" seating position......

I needed the "normal" seats, as I carry my children (one at a time, of course) and you don't get airbag deactivation or the seatbelt tensioning mechanism for child seats with the lightweight seats.

Please try them. It is a very laid back position if you adjust them as i described.......Unfortunately, there seem to be very few cars at dealers with lightweights, especially if you want to try them!!

Unfortunately, the customers in the USA can't spec their cars with lightweight seats, as there is also no inbuilt side airbag..

I think there is, but you have to manually add padded bits I belive? Not on the move of course!

Correct. I discovered this on my V12V test drive the other day. The lumbar on the lightweight seats fell terrible to my back and the nice dealer chap just pulled the back section of the seat off its velcro to reveal two pieces of padding that you can move around or remove (or add more to) Very clever

I love the lightweight seats. I can get into the "perfect" driving position - albeit that the centre tunnel is a bit high........

Thats my problem too, after two laminectomies (discs removed / vertebrae fused) my back doesn't bend where it should, so I needed the inflatable pads to give me some additional recline. Its a bit like putting a cushion at the base of the seat, but on the lightweight seats, you can just pull out the leather back, take out the original pads, and put in the inflatable pad, so its completely invisible, apart from the bulb to inflate & deflate them.

The ones I used are similar to these:

but placed behind the leather.

I'm OK with the lightweight seats now, but it isn't something to gamble on, you need to be sure you'll be comfortable for hours in them.

The standard sports seats made my back ache on the test drive car so was delighted when my mako had the lightweight CFs.
Never had an issue with these!
