V8 Vantage Roadster

Having been a very happy V8 Vantage 4.3 Coupe owner for the past year, I took the next step of my Aston Martin journey today and picked up my new 4.7 Roadster from Grange in Brentwood.

The spec is:
2009 V8VR
AM Titanium Silver
Obsidian interior with contrast stitching
Black hood
Sat Nav
Other MY09+ goodies (powerfold mirrors, front parking sensors, cruise control, garage door opener)

This was how it looked when I test drove it last weekend:


Between then, I've added:
N400 sills
Clear lights (from my previous car)
Number plate plinth delete
Anthracite seven spoke wheels (from my previous car)
Sarah Maynard interior kit (gear lever, gear lever surround, indicator stalks)
VentureShield paint protection, following full machine polish
Extended warranty
Wind deflector

I've only had a chance to take a quick pic in the garage but will take some more shots tomorrow:



The car looks fantastic and drives brilliantly .

As a previous 4.3 owner, I'm not going to underplay what a great car that is, but the 4.7 really is a whole different proposition.

Congrats on your new car Adam.

While strictly speaking the photographs have made you compliant to the rules, I feel that as the first one is not as the car is now and the second is a poor garage shot, in handing down sentencing for a breach of the law, you must serve at least 30 minutes community service and take some decent FECKING PHOTOGRAPHS.

I am on my second one now, I cant understand for the life of me why? Oh yes I remember, it is that bloody great smile I have on my face when I look at drive it or just think about it.

Had a fantastic day in the sun today. What a car. Felt very privileged.

Strangely, even though it's noticeable quicker than my old car I found that, with the roof down, I enjoyed it just as much driving it relatively sedately, without ringing its neck like I did with the 4.3. It's just such a lovely experience (when the weather's like this )

Thanks Mike. Your lights are now on their third car

Wheels are obviously a matter of taste, but the 20-spokers that were on there had a more "elegant" look I guess - just a bit fussy for me.

I think they would have looked even more incongruous with the N400 sills and, even though they're "bog-standard" and from an older car, I think the original Vantage 7 spoke wheels are an all-time classic design and still look great today.

And I don't mind if people think I'm driving a 4.3...

You'll be pleased to know Lewis there is a confirmed and thorough and upgrade plan

This will, once funds allow again, include Sport Pack wheels (with the sides of the spokes and the inside of the rims painted anthracite, a la N400).

It will also include adaptable suspension (either BR or Prodrive) and, at some point, Mike Bamford's exhaust upgrade to unleash another 40-odd BHP

But, right now, loving it as it is

It's a Sarah Maynard one, just had one fitted to mine instead of the DBS style one. Feels so much better!

Also being made by her, doesn't feel aftermarket, she did design the interior originally after all...
