Right, getting a bit confused as most people say the OE pads for V8Vs are Pagid RS4-2-2s, yet I mainly seem to find RS4-2s or RS4-2-1s.
This is what I've found so far:
1) www.carparts4less.co.uk: £162 fronts, £140 rears. They are made by Pagid, but version/model is not that clear, probably too cheap to be the correct ones? Part No. seems to be 101870018.
2) www.pagid-brake-pads.co.uk: Here we have RS4-2 or RS4-2-1 at £254 for the fronts, and RS4-2, RS4-2-1 or RS4-2-2 at £223 for the rears.
3) www.motorsportworld.co.uk: Same as above with 2 choices for the fronts and 3 for the rears, slightly cheaper at £229 fronts and £200 rears.
4) www.lkperformance.co.uk: Here we have "only" the RS4-2 and RS4-2-1 pads (no 4-2-2s), price is similar to above (£231 fronts, £203 rears).

So, which pad is the correct one for my 06 V8V?
Does anyone know of better/cheaper online shops that source the correct pads?

Do you specically want OE pads? I have EBC reds on my 3200. Never needed new pads on my DB9 but have heard that others have fitted them with good results.

Plenty of choice here. http://www.needforspeed.co.uk/pages/sbv_m.asp?Type...

www.eurocarparts.com

Fronts £189

Rears £167

Listed as Pagid for Brembo.

Those seem exactly the same as www.carparts4less.co.uk, only slightly more expensive.
Trouble is - are they the proper kosher OE items, or a wrong spec Pagic pad?

Odd. I can't find prices for pads on ECP. I get this message:

Sorry, but unfortunately our

"Aston Martin V8 Vantage 4.8 (2009) Brake Pads"

aren't available ONLINE, just yet!
but that doesn't mean we don't have it...

What are you doing to get it to give prices?

I used my registration number. Mine is an 06 V8V though, maybe that's making a difference?

I've got them on my V8V and they are excellent. No noise after bed in and no brake dust - plus work much better than the OEM - AND are half the price. Bit miffed why no-one else uses them to be honest.

They seem to be getting a lot of mixed reviews, at least on here. I did a search in the AM forum and most comments were pretty negative!

On another car they lasted 3 laps on the ring. Won't be buying again.

Got the following email from carparts4less.co.uk:
"These are the correct Pagid pads part number T2071 marked RS4-2-2"

Looks like I'll be getting myself some cheap pads!

Excellent. Are these the same pads for the 2009MY V8V?

I would think so? As far as I know there have been no changes to the brakes until the Vantage S and MY12 Vantage?

Interesting to hear. I've been using them for 7 years now on a wide range of cars (BMW, Lotus, Astons) with nothing but great results.

RE the ring - can't see how the new ceramic version would only last 3 laps but I guess it's possible to go through any pad in some fashion with such hard use.

IMHO the EBC Reds are ok(ish) for fast(ish) road but are spectacularly bad if used in *real* anger.

Pagids really are the kiddie here and you'll have a choice of compounds (RS14, 422 etc) depending on your driving. The Ring is not terribly hard on brakes compared with, say, Silverstone GP but much harder (if lapping quickly) than the A4069 or A537.

So I ended up ordering the Pagid RS4-2-2s (supposedly) from carparts4less.co.uk for £302 all in, fronts+rears.
I'll get them fitted on the 14th so will let you know how I get on! (if I remember biglaugh)

Got them today, definitely look like the correct items, in sealed Pagid packaging, stamped RS4-2-2. Marked as DB9 items but I think that's the same brake setup as V8Vs so should be fine.
So looks like a great deal for £302 delivered!

Hi,

I have just ordered the same from carparts4less.co.uk for my DB9. Use the promo code 'SAVE5' in checkout for another 5% off. I got all pads for £295 including next day delivery which was a result. Once I fit them, I will re-post and let you know how they perform.

Many thanks.

Another thumbs up for EBC Reds, used them on the last few cars I've owned and will almost certainly be putting them on my V8V when due. Another alternative are the Portfield R4-S's but I have never used them personally.

I've got a spare set of the OEM Pagid front pads, if anyone is interested. (I ended up going for Porterfield pads).

Carparts4less and Eurocarparts are one and the same. (You can have great fun doing the online web chat thingy on one site and then on the other as you get the same person and they deny the connection)

On some ranges Eurocarparts are cheaper so it's worth checking both sites (and there's generally a discount code to be found somewhere).
