Scratched bodywork
Discussion
Had the same on an Audi a while back. Great body shop near me in Hatfield got rid of it without a respray and I would never have known it was there.
As for the person that did it, I hope it happens to something they value one day. Really makes me feel angry that people do things like that.
I hope you get it sorted.

Agree, utter scum. This sums it up nicely - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VO48Vr4KIc8
Possibly NSFW though
You must be beside yourself, though your post is remarkably calm. Days after taking delivery of my brand new 2001 BRG XK8 convertible I came back to my reserved, covered and (supposedly) secured parking spot at the office to find a 3-foot key scar across the entire boot lid. In my case the gash was surrounded by paint & clearcoat dust -- it was really, really deep. I'm glad I didn't catch the perpetrator in the act; somebody would have come to harm.
Insurance repaired mine, but even though it was a very good job on a very new car I could always make out a slight colour difference. Luckily it was confined to the boot lid, and probably never noticed by anyone else.
Hopefully yours hasn't made it all the way through the clearcoat and can be polished out, or maybe you can get away with just a polish and clear respray.

Go and see glen at chartwells he sorted similar n my v8 and also a big chip on the wing and it was perfect! They are great and glens a good bloke to deal with. Tell him Scott McKenna has reccomened him as he knows how fussy I am.( he made them do my wheels 3 times cause he knew I wouldn't accept them) he will sort it very quick.
It seems that there are lots of such incidents in the UK. Is that just a peception? It doesn't seem like this sort of thing goes on very much in the USA. At least you seldom here of it as compared to UK forums.
I'm sure it'll get fixed. At least it's the right colour to hide this kind of damage.

This more and more common occurrence makes me sick.
Sorry for you Paul and hope it can be sorted soon. Having had my BMW keyed the day before selling I feel your pain.
I cannot begin to analyse the mentality of the jealous amoeba that do this.
Having just caught up with the last episode of Spartacus Vengeance it has given me plenty of ideas re retribution.
If it happens to my car I think that would be it. The animals would have won. I would no longer want to own something that others care not one iota about vandalising.

Yes. The UK is less civilised than non Brits believe it to be. The peasant classes do this out of spite, mostly as a reaction to a (sometimes) arrogant middle class.I'm sure it'll get fixed. At least it's the right colour to hide this kind of damage.

It's down to jealousy. I gather in the States making money is encouraged and if you are successful then you are applauded (?)I'm sure it'll get fixed. At least it's the right colour to hide this kind of damage.
Here it is different, and many people don't like to see others make it. The current economic situation is making it worse, fanned by a baying media that are quick to point out the gaps between rich and poor and in particular what they see as excessive pay to executives. (ignoring that it takes lots of hard work to get there).
There appears to be a climate here where it is ok to pick on any visible signs of wealth and I think it will stay with us for a long time yet.
I read the government like people to make wealth, but they don't want individuals to be wealthy. Kinda sums it up.

It s a sad reality of modern Britain. And sadly I won't be taking my new p&j anywhere where it is a) likely to be vandalised and b) where I cannot see it when parked. In reality my life becomes one of worry because of a mindless few. Here it is different, and many people don't like to see others make it. Sorry to see and echo Michael's post - they'll never amount to anything of any use.
It is a UK thing I think, jealously and the belief that you shouldn't have something they can't. Instead of working to make their lives better, it's easier to make yours worse
Found a key scratch on my new car a couple of days ago. And by new car, I mean my 1991 Rover Coupe!! Some people will just damage anything if they have nothing... And it's why I drive about in a banger.
