Only recently started but what a pain in the arse. Just as you pull up to stop the screech from the brakes is most undignified for an Aston. Does anybody know the cure? I have tried treading on the brakes from very high speed, no difference. Reversing with the brakes on, no difference. I do not have any other squeak rattle or anything else detrimental to report in 4000 miles of use other than brake squeal. Advice please.

Frequently washing with a power jet helps for all of 20 mins.

Changing pads out for new OEM pads helps for a few thousand miles.

Changing the pads out for non OEM pads usually solves the problem. I bang my drum about EBC Red's - squeal like crazy during bed in (c500 miles) then quiet as a church mouse - and they are not dusty.

Others might have other suggestions.

Sell the car. That's what I did. Dealer tried everything....different pads, adjusting the hand brake numerous times,replacing rear discs and pads for free. What with countless rattles it just had to go. Looked great but that's about it.

That's pretty drastic Pete!! Strange that you only tried a dealer as well and didn't reach out online.

RE "Dealer did everything..." - does that mean they tried various non-OEM pads? Dealer would normally only replace with OEM pads and not aftermarket and OEM pads squeal - almost always.

OP; as above, swap the pads out for something aftermarket. Might take a couple of tries depending on what you go for. Other things will work on a temp basis but that's your only real option.

So when I had this problem I just applied some copper slip grease to the back of the pads and that completely solved the problem. Simples.

a few common fixes;

copper slip on back of pad
chamfer edge of pad when fitting from new
brake pad buffer pads (from Pagid, usually come with pads)
bed in properly in accordance with advice on Pagid website (a few hard stops isnt it)
adjust hand brake on rear and chamfer pads

from time to time you have to do the bedding in procedure as most people dont really drive that hard on the road (you might think you do, but not compared to track use) so they glaze over
