Been driving some fantastic roads north of the border but noticed an unusual noise on some of the poorer road surfaces which is like a clunk possibly related to brake pads? Not heard at all on smooth undulating surfaces. Could a brake pad be loose in the calliper? Sounds like front drivers side and quite metallic. Also had one or two 'unusual' noises reversing which are like stones hitting metal. The car is running fantastic and no sign of any handling issues such as pulling to one side just unusual noises! Any thoughts appreciated prior to letting the dealer check it out when I get back.

Dont know about the 'clunk' noise - if pads are loose in the caliper you would normally get more of a rattle than a clunk. Maybe try drive forward slowly and brake - then try and reverse and brake see if the noise occurs in both directions.
So far as the other noise goes I had a 'scraping noise' which was a stone trapped between the front brake caliper and the wheel which I could only get out by removing the wheel - Then cost me a wheel refurb as it had scored around the inside of the rim.

Thanks for the replies. Noise not too noticeable today but still there on uneven surfaces. Don't think it's brakes now it's more near the pedal area . Not noticeable at all on good even roads. The other noise I am sure are stones jammed somewhere flying out ! There seems to be a metal guard behind the wheel that protects the inside of the discs? The Scottish councils have gritted about every road we have driven!
