Black tag thingy!

Hi

When I bought my DB9 it came with a black tag thingy which I don't think has anything to do with the car. From reading other posts I think it might either belong to a V8 or perhaps a newer car!

It is approx 8cm x 5cm with rounded corners; has a small raised AM logo on one side; and the following info on the other...

Tag ID: F xxx CC xxxx (the xxxx are numbers but I blanked them out just in case)

Maybe you got a free Vantage with your DB9?

It sounds like a tracker/eurowatch tag that you need to have on you when driving the car. Sounds like the subscription has lapsed and therefore no longer required. My 9 came with 2 tags but you can also pair your phone to do the same function as a tag.

Don't give it away. Your DB9 will have had a tracker system installed and any potential buyer will need this if they want to re-subscribe to the tracking service.

Except that the batteries in the tags are almost certainly dead. New tags can (and must) be bought if you want to use the AM tracking service so the old tag is as useless as a frying pan made of chocolate.

Hmmm

I have a lifetime subscription to the Tracker and it doesnt need the tag. I checked when I paid plus Iv never taken the tag out of my home office.

Maybe you don't have the Eurowatch satellite system, but just the standard UK tracker. Bit of a mystery why you'd have the tag in that case though!

Its a Tracket Horizon subscription that I have. I don't know what that means in terms of tags etc but I have never had any issue without the tag. As I say it has kicked round the house for the last 3 years whilst I have been abroad/car has been on the back of a wagon to Broughtons etc etc
