Steering wheel phone controls

Hi all, just fitted a new steering wheel to my v8v my07 ,it has phone controls only, no cruise. I was hoping it would work from the start but no such luck, can I got into the info centre and set it up or does it need to go to dealer? Thanks,Jason.

You'll need to get the dealer to program the car to accept the new wheel and activate the cruise control. Simple operation and hopefully they won't ravage you too much.

Bingo, he said the wheel doesn't have a cruise control switch pack, only the phone control switch pack. Regardless, he will need the dealer to activate the steering wheel switches using the AM software (for a fee).

FYI: there a two different kinds of steering wheel phone control switch packs. One only controls the phone, the other also controls the stereo. You can tell them apart by the labels on the buttons. The phone only one has an icon with a human head and phone on the lower switch and the side switch is labeled "End". The one with audio controls has a phone icon only on the lower switch and the side switch has labels for next and previous CD track or radio station.

Do they use different slip rings for different wheels on these cars?

KarlFranz, do you know if the stereo volume control version can be retrofit to older cars ('06 DB9) assuming dealer programming change too?

Thanks for the info,mine has end on the side switch so just for phone,Jason.
