I give up... Which Satnav to buy?

te! Can anyone reccomend a good after market Satnav? I've trawlled the web and there are so many different ones I have no idea where to start!If you have an iPhone then Skobbler is great - its open source mapping - sounds like it would be cheap and cheerful but it's seriously good. It's free and the best thing is that you can buy worldwide maps - I think I paid £6.99 for then entire world (even has antartica!!!!)
With the maps downloaded you can then use the sat nav without data roaming charges whilst abroad. I wasn't expecting much given the price but I've recently used it on a trip to US and Spain and it's worked much better then the Co-Pilot app which I paid £60 for.

I use a Tomtom Go Live 750 and I take it from car to car (I bought additional mounts that I leave in the cars).
It's a good nav device. However, the live traffic updates have saved me countless hours of sitting in traffic jams, and sometimes takes me down obscure country roads to avoid traffic. It's worth it just for this!
Another thing I like about the tomtom as opposed to the Aston satnav is the perspective representation of the road which I refer to when driving quickly on roads I don't know very well.
In short, the tomtom LIVE devices get my vote.

If its the TomTom phone app, then normally at the bottom right side of the windscreen, and route the power lead around the instrument binnacle.If its the TomTom widescreen I have been known to use a windscreen sucker stuck onto the front of the Aston SatNav screen. Brings the Satnav far enough forward that I can use the toiuchscreen when driving - I am 6'1" so seat nearly all the way back. Has the advantage the passenger can see it as well so on unfamiliar roads (especially on the continent) there are two of you looking at the route.
Has the disadvantage that you can switch the car off as the Aston screen tries to close!!
