Does the coupé have any antennae in the windscreen? Or is it just the roadster?
Any reason you didn't take it to AM? I'm assuming the insurance paid?
I have a 2010 V12 Vantage with the antennae in the screen - and yes the insurance paid - interestingly it was a chip that could have been repaired but the guy who came to do the job implied that I would not be happy as I would see the repair - hence the screen replacement - more than happy with the outcome (new genuine AM screen for £75!).Any reason you didn't take it to AM? Good feedback. I however have to go with the glass replacement company that. Admiral use so I only pay £75 towards the replacement.
Nice to know that you got a good job done though.
Admiral group use National Windscreens. had mine replaced by them. even got the correct one - heated screen. no problems at all. dropped it off at their depot, picked it up in the evening.Nice to know that you got a good job done though.

But have you ever experienced anything an insurance company didn't load for? Non fault accidents for example...
Indeed. I was actually told that if you were involved in an accident - even a no fault one - you were statistically more likely to be involved in another one
I think Nick's our man on the inside who could clarify this all

Would you have been as happy if the finished repair was hardly noticeable?laracer said:

I notice you use the term "hardly" - so the answer for me is - no. Repaired chips don't always become invisible, but you'd have to be looking quite hard to find it. In terms of what most people would accept of these en masse repairs, the difference between the two is discernible.
I also had my windscreen replaced by Autoglass after a stone hit and cracked the screen. Again, top notch job and genuine AM heated glass used. The old windscreen had a couple of chips in it and a previous small repair so was quite pleased to get the new screen.
I'm also with Aviva, so paid the £75 excess and was fully expecting my premium to be loaded this renewal so I was pleasantly surprised that it actually went down by £50 this year. Result!

Should be a categorical 'no' for that one.

Correct Lewis that NCB should not be affected by a W/S cliam. But have you ever experienced anything an insurance company didn't load for? Non fault accidents for example...
As for the other bit I have no idea as I don't do motor insurance and never will for all the obvious reasons

Does claiming for a screen or other glass affect the premiums?
There is an increasing trend for some insurers to use glass claims to bump up renewal premiumsDon't confuse this with the loss of no claims bonus (ncb)
I would always ask the insurer fist before claiming a grands worth of screen
Any claim will be recorded by the claims underwriting database
