Télépéage for France

First of all, sorry if this has been asked before, I can't seem to get the search box to take more than a few letters in searches.

Does anyone have a télépéage Liber-T tag in the windscreen of their Gaydon Aston (I've got a V8V but I imagine their all pretty much the same), and if so, where did you stick it?

The instructions say to look out for a shaded area that's supposed to not have the radio blocking IR reflective foil - do Aston not have the foil stuff on their glass, or do you just have to guess?

Also, if you have one mounted, how ugly is it? I'm guessing I can stick one right next to the rear view mirror, but not sure if it will be annoying.

assuming you have a RHD car, put it behind the rear view mirror, on the passenger side, as close to the mirror bracket as possilbe, as high up on the glass as possible. You won't be able to see it from the driver's seat and it works fine there - that's how I do it in my V8 Vantage

Don't worry too much about it being high up. I just put mine on the dash (V8V) when approaching the peage and it works fine. I keep it out of sight the rest of the time. They are pretty attractive to thieves and when I did mount it on the screen of a previous car, I kept forgetting to remove it when stopping for a coffee etc. Although it was never stolen, that may have been more by luck - better not to have the temptation there if you don't need to.

It's the same type of tag, but I doubt they are compatible, that would be too easy

Do any of you have heated front screens? my DB9 does and so I am concerned it wont work!

I keep mine in the glovebox and wave it out the window when I go through. Useless devices only seem to work half the time and if you stick it on your windscreen you end up having to pull it out anyway.

My wife's Puma had a heated screen and it worked fine through that. Same method - just rest the thing on the dash when needed.

had a lot of experience with trying to wave it and it doesnt work - you need to make sure it's right side up and drive slowly. If it's not affixed and you take it out each time, put it on the dash, right side up, near where it meets the window, and leave it still rather than waving it

I bought a Telepeage thingy a couple of months ago in readiness for our summer trip so its good to get some inside track.

We will be ging in our Saab 'vert if we have sold the DB9 Volante by then...if not then it will be in the Aston
