Okay, so I know the C word may be akin to saying the Scottish Play in the theatre but I think it is worth getting people's view on them. Are they actually selling? Will they be seriously taken as part of the Aston heritage or just an excuse/joke? Does anyone here actually own one and is brave enough to speak?

Neil1300 has a theory they're in the range to lower emissions, but we know that not to be true

Firstly it's still a Toyota - Aston are not the manufacturer, Toyota are! I could not really find any other reason for it
Secondly Aston are a low volume manufacturer and don't make enough cars to have to comply with the emissions regulations that people thought this car was to avoid.
Bez has gone on record and said he thought it was a good idea and it would sell. £16 million in development costs wasted...

Low volume manufacturer is less than 10,000 units per year.

I had one a few months back when my car went in for service.
It looks ok, but the problem is EVERYONE knows it is a Toyota with a bodykit, badges and tarted up interior!
If Aston had added a supercharger or twin-turbo's and turned it into a feisty pocket rocket they may have got away with the idea, but as it an obvious pretender the only reason you would buy it is to say to others.. look I have an Aston Martin - when patently you haven't - which unfortunately makes you look a complete pratt

You are spot-on, an attempt at a clever marketing ploy - but they dropped that within about 3 nano-seconds when ..... amazingly ..... no existing owners proved interested in shelling out nearly £40k
