Big thumbs up for Grange

As some of you may know I have had some issues with uneven brake force, sloping steering wheel, a wookie under the bonnet and some odds and ends.
The V8V has been at Grange for four days and they have:
- sorted out the braking
- checked all the suspension components for wear and tear (all ok)
- levelled the steering wheel
- replaced a valve that sits on top of the engine as it sometimes causes noises and so may have been responsible for the wookie sound
- agreed if the sound comes back they will replace the oil pressure relief valve under warranty
They did all of the above free of charge.
They reset the geometry on a Hunter machine (the car never left the ground!) and the printout they showed me shows all the settings are absolutely spot on to factory spec and just about equal side to side.
They also fitted the rain channel mod on the boot and it works great, channelling water down the side of the boot space and not into it as before.
They fitted the clear light set and on the Meteorite gray it looks fantastic and miles better than red lamps.
Lastly they removed the plinth and the number plate is where it should be
I can only say I think this is excellent service and instills a lot of confidence in me that I shall continue to let Grange care for my p&j. Score one for the dealers

I don't know why the steering wheel was not straight but there was nothing bent/worn/deformed under they car as they checked everything before getting the geometry done. The brake force read OK and sufficient for an MOT pass when they put it onto the machine. I have the printout and I can see the numbers. I have the before and after for the geometry as well.So not sure what the problems were but they are now sorted.

Either a) the dealer has sorted it out without telling you what was wrong to preserve theirs and AM's reputation, or b) the geometry place (which I won't name) made a series of errors. I don't know which is more likely!

Yeti - I know which is more likely
I am pleased that it is sorted. I heard the wookie again today although the sound is a little different (but no less weird) but I'll relax and leave it for now as I was relieved to be told that it will be fixed under warranty if it gets to be too annoying

For reference to anyone living in Herts, the place that did the geometry on the Hunter machine was Supertyres in Welwyn Garden City. .

I thought about that too. The warranty people want their own engineer to hear the wookie and it wasn't there when I drive the car down to Grange nor when it was there. Typical!! If they hear it they will authorise the work. Problem seems to be intermittent as I had it yesterday but not today. I think I will get this agreement put in writing but for now, given that it is intermittent, I'd rather not have the front of the engine removed in case that gives rise to another issue.
As an aside, there was nothing on the worksheet about gearbox but the gearchange definitely feels easier. Weird!!
