Any F1 fans on here? Personally I love it and think that this season has been the best season we've had in a long time! I saw an interesting video on another forum that people might enjoy -

Anyone on here going to the British Grand Prix? I took the Aston down from Edinburgh last year and thinking about doing the same again this year.

Big fan of the F1 - the last 2 seasons have made for some very good racing, I was at the British GP last year, which was disappointing after seeing Button go out with a bad wheel change.

I'd like to get out to Spa one year, such an amazing track.

If someone gave me an all access ticket to an F1 Race, I still wouldn't go...
No interest whatsoever, would rather mow the lawn than sit and watch it.....

I do however know all the drivers names.... Jackie Stewart, Nigel Mansell, Damian Hill, David Coultard, Alain Prost, Eddie Irvine, etc etc

I love F1 but hate this season. DRS, Kers and those stupid Pirelli tyres creates so much fake overtaking. I'm due to go to the British GP too. British MotoGP first though, so much better

I reckon you would enjoy it to be honest, even if you don't watch the racing, the event is just fantastic. My dad isn't exactly an F1 fan but when I went out to KL to see him in March we went to the grand prix and he absolutely loved it, I'd reckon you should try it

Beer is ridiculously priced though, cost me €8 at Circuit de Catalunya last year for a pint, and €7.50 in Valencia. Turkey was pretty cheap but what a pain in the arse it was to get to, 3 hours sat on a crap bus with no air con, absolutely boiling too! Hopefully going to Spa, Monza and Singapore this year too, but next year I'm cutting back on the amount of F1 races I go to and replacing them with MotoGP/WSB/BSB

My uncle used to be a big shot with TOTAL.... Years ago he offered me all access VIP tickets to the F1 at Silverstone...

I said no thanks, and went for a ride on my bike instead... Honestly.... I'd rather paint the fence, and watch it dry

It really is a fantastic day out, I think you should try it first

Don't worry I'm sure you will see more of him next season when he's in MotoGP. Might liven it up a bit

Used to think like that but changed my mind having been to Spa last year. Helped it is such a fantastic track. Seeing Webber overtake on the outside of Eau Rouge was very special, especailly when you realise what a wicked corner it is.
You have to go once just to realise how quickly an F1 car can accelerate, and then go to the end of the longest straight and understand how late they brake. TV doesn't do an F1 car justice.

I'm sure it's very spectacular.... But I just have no interest.... Much like when I was offered tickets to watch Man U.... Including lunch in the directors box, VIP parking etc etc.... Not bothered about football so said thanks, probably best to give the tickets to someone who'd enjoy the event...


Been to the TT a few times... Loved it.... Moto GP many times, WSB, le mans, done the nurburgring.. Loved all of them... But FI is just high pitched noise that would drive me up the wall..I can't bear the noise on TV so god knows what it'd do to me in real life...

Each to their own, no harm in not liking it.

I remember driving into Silverstone last year (my first GP) and the sound of the cars from a couple of miles away gave me goosebumps!

A group Aston F1 event would be pretty cool....

I have to say this year it seems to be very interesting with a lot of fight

The atmosphere at the paddock is unique
In 2007 we were sponsoring and supporting a Jaguar Team in the Superstars (very nice championship with a lot of teams and big names and they came to Donington 2 weeks ago) and I spent the whole day at the paddock in Monza. Incredible atmosphere and it was not F1

I absolutely love F1 but am very unsure about this season. The teams cannot say why they are doing well one week and badly the next. Great racing performances come from a great rhythm across a team of people, who know why they are winning and are confident about their chances.

If the momentum swings one way then the other too quickly, the enjoyment of watching teams chase the leader and plot their own success over the course of the season is lost.

That is because of the wk Pirelli tyres.

If you've never tried it I don't see how you can knock it. The noise is just something else, absolutely nothing like what it sounds like on TV. You can tell what car is coming next by the noise, it's just fantastic. As much as I love MotoGP and BSB, F1 events are on a different level in terms of stuff going on at the track. I could quite easily go to an F1 race, watch no racing live and still have a right good day

I'd love to go to the TT though. Was supposed to be there this week, but instead I have to go to work in 4 and a bit hours
