Something positive about Aston Satnavs

Perhaps our crude and basic Satnavs are better for us than we think. I could never get on with Jaguar's offering in the XF because there were far too many options on the touch screen and it's "clever" route logic algorithms were cr*p.

I don't agree with that article at all. When it says "map" it's a bit ambiguous. Paper map? Map display in 2D? Perspective driver POV view?

On my tomtom, I always have the voice off and just look at the symbol for the next junction and the distance to it. If it is ambiguous (rare), I glance at the map display.

I also sometimes use it in a completely different way: relying on the perspective display of the tomtom when driving fast through country lanes that I don't know very well to see what the road is going to do. It's like having a copilot.
