Hey Jockman, this is just my car with me and Mrs Delta on the policy, business miles for her (1k "just in case") and a £500 xs. Best quote is £468 so far.
Yo Kris did having Mrs D on the policy reduce or increase the premium??I assume she has her own car?? Ever thought of adding it into the mix??

She decreases the risk/cost (passenger brake?!). Multicar seems a faff and ties me to a single provider - she is with Allianz with her Golf and pays @£450 for that (it's only worth about £4k!) I assume she has her own car?? Ever thought of adding it into the mix??

Those were my exact sentiments on multicar ........ Until I tried it !!! No harm asking the question and at the end of the year I always exercise my open market option anyway.
Just a thought

Comparing insurance quotes like this is fairly meaningless to be honest as there are so many specific factors affecting premiums. Aside from the obvious stuff such as your age, NCB, claims/driving history, mileage and postcode you need to add in that the insured value of your vehicle is also a critical factor. It will not far off double the cost to insure a £100k vehicle as it does to insure a £50k one, so given the huge range of Aston values between old and new cars this is a key factor to add in to details you are quoting.
Getting an agreed valuation is also worth its weight in gold if you are in the unfortunate position of having to make a total loss claim.

Changed my Aston policy (admiral) to multicar today so I could add my BMW ... worked out about £200 cheaper than it would have been insuring the BMW on it's own separate policy.
Also as a 'youngen' I've found over the years that adding older relatives and a girlfriend (assuming they have no claims on their record) onto the policy reduces cost.

The reason I asked Kris about his OH was that if I try to add my 24 years ncd onto my eldest's policy with Sheila's Wheels it actually increases the premium !!
Go figure
