Paint codes / touch up kit for V8V

Afternoon folks!

(Yes I tried the search on here and in google!)

I have a few niggling stone chips on my otherwise gleaming car, where can I find the paintcode so I can order the right touch-up kit? I was looking at www.cartouchupkits.co.uk unless someone has a explicit recommendation of course.

Chipex is easier to use and usually lists AM colours that they have already supplied

If you have no luck there, let me have the last 6 digits of your chassis number and i can put it into the dealer system and get the AST code?

How nervous should I be about using Chipex. Is it as effective as they claim. My lower valance now has a bit of a rash which I would like to be sorted. I have been quoted £1500 to repaint.

I can pop round and show you how it's done Rob - I would be more nervous of Molly than the chipex if I were you

It is pretty intuitive stuff to use though I prefer putting it on with a cocktail stick than the supplied brushes

I bought some tungsten silver touch up but it looks far too dark when on the car. Since it's just for a couple of small bumper stonechips I must admit I was thinking of taking a punt with a random lighter grey colour from halfords!

Johnny - shake the tin then shake it again then put it in the washing machine on max spin then shake it one more time.

Now it won't be too dark - that's how I got my shade as near as damn

Apologies if I'm being dim, but did you really put a tin of touch-up in the washing machine?! I'd have imagined that would centrifugally split the paint components rather than mixing them, if anything! Mine's an aerosol by the way...
