How The Hell Did It Pass?

Took the DB7 vv for an MOT today but said to the guy i know it wont pass as there is obviously a suspension problem that i can hear, ie a knock from the front when going over bumps. So when my man and the tester had the car up on the ramp they checked everything but to my amazement they couldn't find anything wrong at all. They checked for wear on the ball joints, bushes, anti roll bar etc but couldn't find any wear on any of the parts at all.It's very nice getting an mot without even an advisory, but i was kind of hoping something would have shown up. They said just drive it till something becomes obvious. Could take some time though as i only did 700 miles in it last year.

Might be a silly question.... did they check for wear in the joints with the wheels dangling? If so, any wear may not be evident until the suspension is at normal ride height.

I had the same thing on my DB7 last year, it turned out to be a dry front shock absorber/front strut. That took some finding too, DMS had it for a couple of weeks trying to locate what it was. Wasn't too expensive, around £500 for a pair fitted which was for special order for my GTA as they were a non-standard part.
