On the point of pushing the button on a V12V, as cannot justify a GT3RS when I have a hooner already. Looking at V12 as almost a daily driver, anyone else on here do the same ?. Also looked at V8S, but had the original back in 06, so not sure would see a massive difference. Thoughts would be appreciated.
Yup, I drive my V12V every day and its totally reliable and puts a smile on my face even when stuck in traffic pn the way to work. The only days that are problems are heavy snow/Ice but the same applies to a GT3RS!
V8VS is a great step up over a V8V and closes the gap a little pn the V12V but at as man who is looking at a GT3RS and not a GT3 you obviously dont do things by half measures I think you would feel like you had short changed yourself with a V8VS if you turned down the chance at a V12V!
Looking at your profile you've a long history with Porsche! I had two 911's before switching to Aston and Ive no regrets at all... Do it, get the monster bought!

That would be a worry,my 996 turbo blew up with 2000 miles on the clock and the 997 turbo spent 6 months of the ten I had it on a ramp in a Porsche dealership with severe electrical faults.franki68 said:

Prefer not to get into a Porsche V Aston debate, pointless and irrelevant.Just stating that they seem more mileage sensitive, which would be a little worrying as a daily. There doesn't seem to be any high milers for sale, and think I would be paying a premium now. Couple of guys I know were offered 2012 below £100k earlier this year, whereas now they seem well north of £100k.

The V12V is a limited volume car so you need to compare it with similar models in the 911 range to put your "mileage sensitive" thoughts in perspective. Although I dont know exact GT3(RS) production numbers Id be pretty sure Porsche make more GT3's than Aston make V12V's and I would expect GT3RS production volume to be more in line with the V12V, therefore this is the model you should compare in terms of milage/price. I would expect them both to be pretty similar in this respect, i.e. the cars generally hold their value well but high mileage examples are hit a little harder.Just stating that they seem more mileage sensitive, which would be a little worrying as a daily. Again like GT3RS the V12V is quite a seasonal priced car, with prices taking quite a dip over winter and peaking in summer. If you want a bargain then wait 6 months - if you want to enjoy the car to its maximum then buy now.
There is pretty much no such thing as a safe bet for depreciation when putting over £100k of your money into a new car, but as things go the V12V fairs as well as anything else I can think of.

Mileage sensitive in what respect ? price or reliability ? I think astons can be used every day and many are,but most of the dbs and v12v models are used as a 'toy'...like lambos and ferraris and hence they are mileage sensitive price wise.In terms of relaibility ,this being my first one it is hard for me to say,but from a long time investigating it seems astons are mechanically incredibly robust,you might be unlucky and get minor electrical fault ,but the only car I ever had that gave me not one single problem was an r8.
Not a V12V but I use my DB9 everyday. Bought it January with 36k on and now on 52k.... no problems with me at all except increased relationship with petrol station staff... Also seem to see Tim at Trinity for servicing more than most.... I wouldn;t let it bother you, mine has been perfectly reliable and perfectly drivable

Excellent news Robbo !!Quantum has to be up there in the top 3 colours - I think Johng39 has a Quantum one, wonderful on show at Hever.
Only drawback is the lack of contrast on the vents but, hey ho, some people don't like the contrast
Indeed, JCT. Eventually got to where I thought we should be, Max was very helpful. Realise there are differing opinions, but prefered Quantam to lighter shades as disguises the vents a little. Will try and get some images in the Welsh hills shortly.
