Painting Estimate?

Could anyone give me an estimate to paint the front bumper and sills on my V8V in tungsten?
Just to give me an idea before I start shopping around.
No damage, just stonechips and I'd like to freshen the car up over the winter.

I rang works service for a quote to paint the bumper. £1200 +VAT! I quite like the chips now.

Interesting. That makes my 1600EUR quote from AM about the same amount then.

If you can avoid painting the bumper then it might be better. It's very stressful getting bumpers painted, I have found. I've had mine done twice now, and I'm still not convinced it's perfect.

I am starting to think that you can't get the same quality finish as the factory finish.

Then you need to find a decent painter. I had the rear wing painted on my old V8V in Toro Red and it was perfect. I had a quote for the bonnet and bumper for £1000 from the same people so £1200 for a bumper seems very steep.

Perhaps Tungsten is a particularly difficult colour. Or maybe I am being too picky - I have pointed out colour differences on other peoples' cars that they weren't even aware of. FYI they don't thank you for doing this.

I'm having my rear bumper re-spayed at the moment by an Aston approved bodyshop in Manchester, total cost £400 (inc Vat). This includes removal of bumper from car, removal of the Carbon bits (they're also polishing up the carbon that has a couple of light scratches) and refit. I wouldn't have thought a front bumper should be much more..

To paint my whole front end - wings, new DBS bonnet and front bumper was £1600 and that's London prices. I'd want a third of that for bumper only!

No nothing really... there are some very fine scratches that must have been there when I bought it but are only visible in strong sunlight.. .but being the OCD twit that I am I decided to get it seen to while the car was in for some warranty paint work...

You would throw a fit if you looked at the front of mine then!!!!

After SPA a complete front end spray followed by ventureshield.

Bit far from me then. The reason I asked is because the main dealers will tell you the cars are prepared for resale at a bodyshop which is absolute bks. They use someone like this www.completecarcosmetics.co.uk I know this for fact as I got these details from an ex salesman. Fact 1. CCC came and did my front spoiler etc on my old V8V and he did a stunning job. Fact 2. It will need doing again in a year or so's time. In my opinion bodyshop's are a complete waste of money for this type of work. No doubt many will disagree.

Also, can anyone advise how much it would cost for protective film on the front bumper and sills?

I used Tayside auto body repairs in Dundee to paint the CS bodykit fitted to the 360, they did a fantastic job, Charlie who runs the place is a bit of a Perfectionist. There's quite a few guys over on Scottishelises that have used him as well and I've never heard nothing but praise.
