Door handle LED lights 2006 Vantage V8
Discussion
Hi All
I was reading the manual trying to figure out the exterior door handle LED lights. It says they should light when the doors are unlocked using the remote key fob but they don't seem to at all on either side. I can't get them to light at all in any way…..
Any ideas? Many thanks…..

The LED lights in the handles were fitted to 07MY on, so of your car was built prior to this then it won't have them. my db9 also has the look of the led lighta on the handles, ~I think they all do they're just not fitted, there is a thread with someone who retrofitted into the floor interior lights. Would love someone to offer this as a service or a detailed install as I think it's a really nice feature and shame on you Aston for doing half a job on the early cars
There are a couple of threads on the AMOC site dealing with this retro-fit:

and

And astonmartinbits occasionally offers the updated door handle units with lights included -- still have to find power for them though.

Agreed. I looked into it, thought it would be nice, but too much trouble unless I had untold hours to fill with a project (or I have to open up the door innards to fix something else). Decided to get a micro flashlight on my key ring for the rare dark night when the door handle LEDs might be helpful.Sorry to bump a old thread but I have a question about LED handles so thought I'd resurrect this.
My car is a 56, Nov 2006 registered so has the 07 interior spec like the later stitched seats etc so thought it would have the LED door handle lights. The chassis number is C04217.
Could it be possible something as simple as the fuse has gone or is there any other way to check if the car is fitted with them? Had the car over a month or so and haven't had any LED lighting from the handles. Can the lighting be turned off at all and I just don't know about it?
Cheers
Hmm just ran the alarm test with the red button on the fob and they illuminated and now seem to be when unlocking the car via the fob as well. Is it possible I could have turned it off somehow?

Just added these LEDs to my DB9.
Video here showing the results...

(taken in bright sunlight and still very noticeable. At night they are VERY bright).
As you can see, I opted for a white flashing LED. Its a fairly easy mod but the most difficult element is feeding the wire through from the door into the cabin. Guess it took me around 1 hour in total.
The information posted on AMOC (see above) is a good guide but if anybody wants any further advice let me know.
