Wheel Colour

While the car is at Aston dealer getting work done, they have agreed to re-condition the wheels as I was not happy with the finish. Question is, should I keep them factory colour (regular alloy, or change them to Anthracite?

Car is Meteorite silver. Have to make a decision by 9am tomorrow...

Anthracite with Meteorite would be too much grey. I think it needs a little contrast.

Have a look at wicked coatings, they do a super carbon look paint finish. Look at it as a paint finish and not fake carbon

Meteroite with standard wheels and with black wheels. Admittedly they are not standard wheels, but it looks really mean and I think it works with Meterorite.



Mine is the one with standard wheels. Had mine refurbished since the photo. Went for standard finish. But still like the other car (Burntout's)

A carbon dipped finish with diamond turning on the face of the spokes might look pretty cool.

Thanks for the pic Neil, the car with the black wheels has tied it in nicely with the other bits and bobs, such as front grill.

The photo is making it harder!!

For the love of god do NOT do this. You will look like a colossal bell end if you have carbon fibre effect wheels.

Having had one of those Vantage's with 4 pots missing and steel discs I would definitely consider anthracite. Silver is nice but its only silver until you first brake and then its quickly dirty. I am told that anthracite is not so dark it might make you look the proverbial bell end, but sufficiently not silver so you don't feel you have to clean the wheels very time you pull up.

If its never driven I would def have silver. If it gets driven I would consider anthracite. Besides its only about £30 per wheel to get powder coated so even if you don't like it you can get them repainted cheap enough.

Or buy proper Vantage with carbon fibre discs, for some reason they never seem to kick any dust out. Should be quite a few up for sale soon seeing as many are looking to buy V12VR.

some photos to help you make your mind up, after two winters the silver finish was getting poor with flakes and lifting so decided to gamble on the coloured finish and had mine done and very pleased i am to. I asked the paintshop to go for a colour similar to the body, after checking out a few samples this was my chosen one, hope this is helpful tried and failed to get the second photo of a close up of a wheel.

Nothing I enjoy more on a Saturday afternoon than a quick wax, and a top buffing - nothing beats a great rim job
