Rusty Diffuser Grill and wing mirror bracket?

The rear diffuser has a metal grill, which on closer inspection appears to have some surface rust?
Does anyone have any similar experience?
Is this something that the dealer should fix under the corrosion warranty?

I also have some very slight bubbling on the passenger wing mirror bracket, the black art of the mirror.
I expect this is aluminium and there is some electrolysis corrosion under the paint
Any other experiences of this?

Congratulations on your new V8V. I have not looked at the rear diffuser on mine but my drivers door mirror bracket has some bubbles and I have twice rubbed down and touched up with black paint. Mine seems to chip easily and then the bubbling starts. The dealer said they can be removed and properly repainted if I wanted but I'll leave it for now after the latest retouch.

I saw a V8 at a recent club meeting which had lost almost all the black paint and just left an oxidised bracket ...

the mesh grills all rust after a few years, especially if its a daily car and left outside

not much you can do other than replace with stainless optional mesh or get the hammerite out and paint it ...I did the latter a couple of years ago, looks fine still now

If you still have an Aston warranty (extended also covers) the mirror support will be replaced provided they deem it corroded enough. I had one replaced under warranty and one denied due to this. I'm sure it was nothing to do with the fact I had already claimed pretty much the cost of the extended warranty for that year and it was coming up for renewal...

My last car had both these issues from living outside, being driven daily and not being looked after (by the first owner )
Aston sorted both out before the factory warranty ended

I think that depends upon your dealer fighting your corner. Bodywork is not covered under the extended and premium extended warranty.

That said it doesn't cost much to have one removed and repainted.

The warranty company send someone out to inspect these issues. Both times it was the same dealer I went to.
