Unless done to whole panels, protection films look worse to my fussy eyes. Even the OEM piece annoys me.
TrueI specced mine with out from the factory & had a 3M full Venture Shield kit fitted, you would be hard pushed to spot it unless you get really close.

What's the difference bogie?
stone guards are plastic mudflapsim talking about Ventureshield/Armourfend ....paint protection film
if you get it applied after paint correction, somewhere good, you wont hardly tell
certainly better than having a stone chipped car within months of new

+1 mine has done 4.2 k miles now and I only have 3 chips (all where the film does not cover if you get it applied after paint correction, somewhere good, you wont hardly tell

Not entirely true matey - there is a 5mm shortfall on each of the 2 corners closest to the windscreen
I was told the latest film can be had in sufficient width to avoid this...
Still haven't had it done though
Isn't a full covering of this stuff a 2k+ proposition
It's not 5mm down the edge
You can JUST see the edge of the film in the top corners of the bonnet below the screen

V12V full kit & full bonnet was £800 fitted.
