What tyre options are there for the V8 Vantage?

I hate the Bridgestones and as the car has just failed its MOT for a worn tyre (plus another very close to limit), I'm thinking I might as well swap them all out now.

Do Sport Contacts fit? Seem to recall them getting good reviews.

One of the guys in a previous thread was recommending Michelins (Pilot Super Sports I think).

Have a search for the thread (will have had responses inside the last week or so, so look back through rather than using the search function).

Pirellis seem oft used too, to mixed results.

I think it's going to depend on what you don't like about the Bridgestones (personally I think they're a pretty good tyre for the car).

Thanks guys. The above thread doesn't tell me much though?

I don't like the Bridgestones as they are noisy and uncomfortable. Even my Smart car which has budget tyres on it has less road noise and feels less of the road imperfections.

I don't track the car and rarely use it on long high speed motorway journeys therefore want something comfortable and quiet to run around in.

Hijacking the thread slightly. What's people's view of only changing one axle for a different make of tyres e.g. new Michelins on the front only and existing Bridgestones left on the back?

Can't see it being a big issue, as long as you do it per axle.

Biggest factor (by a very, very long way) there is not the tyres but what's holding the steering wheel.

Sure. But with better tyres, you increase the safety margin before finding the limits of your abilities.

If you don't believe me, try putting some Ling Long tyres on.

Ive never heard of LingLong tyres, so just had a little google!

Never at any point did I say I was being a tight wad about tyres...but thanks for the input all the same.

Now for size: has anyone gone from a 275/35/19 set up at the back to 265/35/19? Lots more tyre options on the latter and various websites seem to suggest it is fine to do so.

It will change your rolling radius somewhat and also reduce the amount of rubber in contact with the road. I would prefer to keep the original sizes.
