Window closure issue

Continuing in the theme of find everything that is wrong with the car before the warranty expires, I believe I may have a problem with the passenger side window.

I first noticed it the other day when I washed the car and managed to slosh a fair amount into the interior because the window was open a quarter of an inch or so. I put this down to me being an idiot and not closing the window properly.

However the other day on a trip with my wife she complained that she couldn't close the window. Effectively, open again by a quarter of an inch. I had her open the door and close it again and the window popped back up into the correct position.

I am thinking that it might be the door switch, but the intermittent nature of the problem is irritating for a warranty claim.

Had anyone had anything similar happen?

I'll start by stating the obvious. Have you tried the window reset procedure? This may be the problem. It does sound like the same issue I had with mine however. Sometimes the window drops and sometimes it doesn't. It was very annoying for a warranty claim as it never did it while at the Dealers of course so it was a case of no fault found sir.

I recently discovered the same issue with the passenger window, and solved it by opening the door again and closing it a bit more firmly.....I have had to do this three times, but it works. I thought it might just be a faulty switch and have been tempted to send the car back to AM again. But since out of the 1000 miles I have done in the car 420 have been to and from the dealership, I'm going to wait and see if something else goes wrong to make the journey worthwhile!

That is what I am thinking, too. Faulty door closure sensor. I think this is quite common.
