Would anyone buy a V12V privately?

Thinking hard about this after Di & Tony selling theirs for an amazing price.
I was just thinking whether anyone would buy an £80K plus car privately? Obviously the dealers need to make 4 - 5K and in fairness they are not offering much more than a service & valet. In my case I have the extended warranty in place anyway, so if I sold privately it has 16 months warranty (Not that there is anything wrong with it).
All I need to do is get the front end painted after the little sortie to North Wales left its mark !!! and the car is immaculate, would anyone see it as a risk? I think that someone could get a bargain in comparison to the ones advertised and I could get a little more than the dealers are prepared to pay.

I am thinking of buying a 2010 model so that I can update every year. I absolutley love my V12V and will buy another one with the cash in pocket. The dealers have offered a number that is probably £2K - 2.5K less than I would take for it and they (looking at PH & Autotrader) want to try and make £7 - 8K above what they have paid (but they then have to pay VAT and other costs).
Therefore I am able to offer someone a well looked after car (less the Wales peppering), complete with FSH & extended warranty for probably £5 - 6K less than a dealer and 2 - 2.5K more than I would get at a dealer.
My question was, as Phil answered, would you buy a second hand car from an Essex boy? He would, but only with free cake
The subjective aspect of risk and reward.
I wouldn't have a problem with buying privately, however wider circumstencses leading to the purchase would also be pertinent, age, knowledge of the car, background checks on the seller and car in question and reasons leading to the sale. A must would be valid manufacturers warranty.

Why - cause I want a newer one and I think I can get a better deal with money in pocket.
Background checks - OK so I fail dismally here
Warranty - Yes
The car is well known and 2 owner, so the original owner could be contacted.
So other than my shady past, I am laughing
Hmmm an advert on PH could be beckoning then.

Not disappeared completely. Even if I say so myself, my car was well known on here and pretty near immaculate but I had no private interest, not even from scammers. We will see but next time it appears my guess it will be up for around £96/£97,000.
Getting used to not seeing my car now, but I have retained my plate as you never know!!!

Thanks Di, interesting. Mine being a 59 plate would be on PH for low 80's as a private sale and high 80's at a dealer. My thoughts are only whether somone would buy private? Maybe you have answered from the masses that may be searching and don't know you as we do.Not disappeared completely. Would I buy from a stranger - no.
80k kicking about is a lot to trust somone with. When I sold my Maserati and DB7; the Maser buyer gave me a bankers draft (which took 5 days to clear while he had the car) and the DB7 guy paid me a week in advance. I knew them both from forums and the trust was there on both sides.
Would not have done that without knowing someone first.

Hence my question and the answer seems to be along those lines. Di got no takers privately and I guess unless the person/car is known, most people would shy away unless the price was so cheap that it was too much to resist.Would I buy from a stranger - no.
