Recolouring leather

There's a really irritating patch of worn-white leather on my otherwise immaculate seats. It's right where the stitching for the bolsters is and the layers overlap.

I am thinking that it'll be mission impossible to try and get this taken care of under guarantee - after all it could convincingly be argued that it's wear and tear, even though the car has only done 13k miles.

In the past I have used [shudder] shoe polish to surprisingly good effect on black leather and be fair, it did a really good job. Before I try the same trick on the Aston (seems wrong somehow) has anyone got any other advice ? There must be more suitable products / techniques.

If I was in the UK I would probably take it to a pro, but in France when you ask about anything to do with the cosmetics of a car people look at you with a blank expression. Either that or their eyes fill with dollar symbols.
