Vantage What should I look out for?

Essentially looking at the Vantage and looking for the usual details. What to look for in a second hand one at prices between £25k and £35K. What are the usual running costs on the servicing front etc.

Firstly I would readjust you price bracket to 30k plus.....millage is less important than a regular service history.....if the car needs a new clutch and brakes that’s going to set you back 4-5k.....your far better paying a little more and buying a car that had all the expensive maintenance issues sorted.

With regards to on-going costs.... with an older Vantage be aware that parts are not cheap and you should budget on 2k per year…… good luck with your search

I've spent a small forture running mine in the last year. Services for higher mileage cars will go £1-£1.5k a year if you go through a dealer. Independent will be £500-£1000. Will cost you £1000+ for a new set of tyres. Double that for brakes. Clutch is the big one and has a habit to a) not last long and b) got when you least expect it. Albeit some are 60k plus miles on the first clutch, but more frequently than not it's between 20-40k. Petrol will also be expensive, expect 15-20mpg depending on how and where you drive. And make sure you have a couple of grand tucked away for the unexpected bills. At the price bracket you are looking at, I would expect them as parts will begin to wear.
